#GiveBack at TurkishWIN

We believe we can be the change and make a difference in changing the gender ratio.

We did what we know best. We built systems and programs to serve and support Turkey’s rising female leaders who are looking for the roadmap and encouragement we can offer them. 

Our #GiveBack strategy has three pillars: 

WIN Next Generation:  We target female highschool and university students. Our goal is to inspire them to become the best version of themselves at the workplace. Our message: “If I did it, so can you!” 

We offer accessible role models, career tips and relevant networks in three programs/platforms: CampusWIN Academy,  BinYaprak and Milyon Kadına Mentor Hareketi. 

WIN in Digital: We know that the future of work will be shaped in digital spaces. We also know not every sister enjoys the same mobility to attend events in person for many different reasons. When she is searching for a role model, career tip, or a supporting network, we want to be there! We work tirelessly to increase the number of role models, career tips and networks. 

Our digital #GiveBack platform BinYaprak is available free of charge, offers content in Turkish and serves as an umbrella for all change-maker organizations who do not have resources to invest in digital platforms. 

WIN Together: Investing in a gender equal future takes a village of change-makers. We partner with organizations that share our values, passion and target audiences to amplify our collective success and impact. You can check out our #WinTogether partnerships here. 

As TurkishWINners, we choose to leave a legacy not just through the work we do but the relationships we  create and the women we impact along the way.  We are one less without you. 

We offer accessible role models, career tips and relevant networks  in three programs/platforms: CampusWIN Academy, BinYaprak and Milyon Kadına Mentor Hareketi. 

CampusWIN Academy is the leadership program of the Turkish Women’s International Network since 2012.  

The program admits up to 100 female university students during an academic year. Our recruitment process is rigorous and led in partnership with ManpowerGroup Turkey. 

CampusWINners lead the change they want to see at university campuses for a gender equal future in society and at the workplace. They invest five hours a week for this goal. We invest in their leadership and give them tools to realize this goal. Rising leaders complete the program in three academic years and graduate to the CampusWIN Alumni Network. 

CampusWINners GiveBack by: 

• Leading the organization of the TurkishWIN Career Day, the only career day for female university students in Turkey since 2015. Their impact: Over 5000 sisters attended these events. (2021)
• Leading and supporting the only local student clubs with the name “woman” in their name: Women in Business/ Iste Kadin Kulupleri since 2012. Their impact: 11 Women in Business Clubs are operational all over Turkey (2021) 
• Sharing their experiences, role models and career tips in blogs, live events and videos at BinYaprak since 2015. Their impact: >1 million in reach (2021) 

We have designed a program we wish we had in our university years. You can learn more about the CampusWIN Academy program here. 

We have been sharing  our know-how  at BinYaprak to help our sisters  build the careers they love since 2015. We have created a safe space for us and our ecosystem to share role model stories, career tips and networks for peer sharing and support. As of June 2021, BinYaprak has over 17 thousand members and a digital subscriber base close to 100 thousand. 

We launched our latest #WinNextGeneration giveback program on March 8, 2021. We are a proud partner of the Million Women Mentor program - aka Milyon Kadına Mentor. The main goal of the program is to connect private, public and NGO sector leaders with young women (15-25 year old) for mentorship opportunities in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields. We hope to reach 1 million mentoring connections in 10 years. 

The program was founded together with the U.S. Chamber’s U.S.-Turkey Business Council and its Women in Business Initiative co-chairs Ümran Beba, Co-founder, Beba Foundation & Partner, August Leadership and Canan Özsoy, CEO, GE Turkey, alongside the project partners TurkishWIN's BinYaprak platform and TOBB. The program convenes STEMConnector’s global expertise and TurkishWIN’s wide network of mentors and mentees and is supported by our Founding Circle partners: Beba Foundation, Limak Holding, Logo Yazılım, PepsiCo Turkey,  and Petrol Ofisi.

BinYaprak is our digital #GiveBack platform. 

We have created a separate platform that empowers our collective TurkishWIN sisterhood GiveBack to:

• Deliver our social and know-how capital in Turkish language; 
• Make our role models and others accessible online; 
• Amplify our reach and impact; 
• Engage men in our GiveBack circles;
• Empower our partners in digital spaces;  
• Provide a free and accessible social network for women who want to GiveBack outside of TurkishWIN community; 
• Be a digital sister to any woman who is looking for her +1 to cheer her on to take the next bold, scary or ambiguous step in her career.

You can learn about all TurkishWIN #WinTogether partnerships here.  We have been building our ecosystem since 2011 and this list is long. We picked a few examples for you: 

• Network Connection between Kiva.org & KEDV: In 2011, TurkishWIN introduced KEDV’s MAYA to become Kiva.’s first local partner in Turkey & established a network connection. As a result, MAYA received a funding vehicle for micro-credit loans for women.
  • #GiveBack impact: >$1.2 Million in funding was given to over 3k women in micro-credit loans and counting! 

• Co-founded YenidenBiz: In 2013, Melek Pulatkonak and our team were in the Founding Circle to launch YenidenBiz as an NGO to  help women get back to work after a career break.
  • #GiveBack impact: >250 job placements & trainings delivered to thousands

• Co-founded and co-lead Kadin Liderlik Platform:  In 2014, TurkishWIN , KAGİDER and UPS Turkey launched the Women Leadership Platform (WLP)/ Kadin Liderlik Platformu. In 2019, EBRD joined WLD. Our objective is to provide a gathering and sharing space to companies to exchange best practices in diversity and inclusion (D&I)programs with a specific gender focus.   • Over 582 participants from 238 organizations attended the events and participated in the platform. 

• Co-create and manage EBRD Turkey’s Women in Business Mentoring Program: Since 2015,  we have been the mentoring  partner of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Women in Business Mentoring Program. Women entrepreneurs who enroll in this complimentary mentoring program are matched with TurkishWIN mentors.
  • >120 women entrepreneurs are matched with TurkishWIN sisters as mentors.
