#GiveBack at TurkishWIN and Join the Million Women Mentor Turkey Program today

Every day is Women's Day for the TurkishWIN community.  To be the change and help make a difference in changing the gender ratio, we do what we know best. We build systems and programs to serve and support Turkey’s rising female leaders who are looking for the roadmap and encouragement to succeed.

Our #GiveBack strategy has three pillars: WIN Next Generation,  WIN in Digital, and WIN Together.  Our latest #GiveBack program, Million Women Mentor Turkey, hits all three pillars! 

We are proud to be a  partner of the Million Women Mentor program - aka Milyon Kadına Mentor. Launched in 2021, the main goal of the program is to connect private, public, and NGO sector leaders with young women (15-25 years old) for mentorship opportunities in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields.

What is the Million Women Mentor Turkey program?

The  Million Women Mentor Turkey program was founded together with the U.S. Chamber’s U.S.- Turkey Business Council and its Women in Business Initiative, alongside the project partners TurkishWIN's BinYaprak platform and TOBB. 

The program convenes STEMConnector’s global expertise and TurkishWIN’s wide network of mentors and mentees. Our program is supported by our Founding Circle partners: Azelis, Beba Foundation, Logo Yazılım, PepsiCo Turkey, and Petrol Ofisi. 

Our goals are to:

• Activate companies and change agents by providing an umbrella for mentorship programs targeting female high school and university students, as well as young professionals.
• Convene leading STEM mentoring program across Turkey to raise awareness of the amazing work of our stakeholders.
• Curate 1,000,000 mentoring relationships to support women and girls in STEM careers over the next 10 years.

Who are the Mentors? 

Mentors can be men or women with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in STEM fields. Mentors could be working in any type of organization as long as they’re currently in a STEM role. 

Who are the Mentees?

Mentees are the young women between the ages of 15 and 25 (18 to 25 to participate in the 1:1 Mentoring Program) who are studying in or graduated from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) majors in universities and those who currently work in or would like to pursue a career in STEM fields.

What have we achieved so far?

Our growing community has pledged over 11 thousand mentoring matches from over 145 organizations. As of November 2022, our BinYaprak 1:1 mentoring program has over 800 mentors, 1800 mentees, and 1000 matches. 

Our design and digital implementation of Million Women’s Mentor Turkey program won the 2021 Trailblazer award and high praise from STEMconnector. You can watch our partners’ presentation of our high-impact global expansion here.
